Ongar 199-9(dec)
Old Parkonians 137-9(dec)
(Division Three)
ONGAR were left frustrated as they couldn’t secure the final Old Parks wicket that would have given them a deserved win.
The hosts opened the batting and despite the fall of some early wickets made a useful looking 199-9 from their allotted overs.
Mick Ayres with a well-crafted 51 led the way with the willow for the Love Lane men, while Blake Hall (21), Matthew Adcock (41) and Pinal Patel (19*) provided some useful support.
R Pandya (3-28) and A Bunting (3-60) led the Old Parkonians bowling attack.
Despite Paul Robbins (71) and Anton Bunting (52) getting amongst the runs, no other visiting batsman made double figures, and in the end the latter was left holding on at the crease with Josh Gordon to frustrate the hosts.
Once more overseas star Hall (5-39) did the bulk of the damage, while Matthew Adcock (3-38), also picked up some useful figures, but it wasn’t enough as their side had to be content with a frustrating draw.
