AFTER seeing his side secure only their second league win of the season against Old Brentwoods on Saturday, Woodford Green captain Chris Masters is now hoping to spoil Buckhurst Hill's title party.
Green rediscovered their batting form from earlier in the season as they posted a useful total of 210 last weekend with Andrew Naipaul the pick of the order with a fine 76.
The all-rounder then help skittle out Brentwoods for just 157, as he returned fine figures of 3-21. And having seen his side pick up a much-needed win, Masters is now looking to upset joint Division Three leaders Hill on the final weekend of the 2008 season.
He said: “We had a lot of our best players back last weekend and it showed.
“There was a lot more confidence with our batting and we also bowled and fielded very well.
“After what has been a very difficult season for our young side it was certainly nice to get a win.
“We are still only a very young side with a lot to learn, although the boys will want to finish this season with another win.
“Of course it is going to be a tough game for us and they will be going all out to win because they can win the title, but we certainly wont just roll over and let that happen.”
