HEAVY rain swept away just in time for the Epping Forest Festival to produce a crowd-pleasing show.
The Medieval Knights of Middle England put on a spectacular display of jousting at the event on Sunday on Chingford Plain.
Their If your taste was for more up-to-date action, you could admite the moves of the Dancing Digger, enjoy the show of dogs demonstrating their agility in the main arena or meet the army cadets and learn more about what they do.
For the children, there were donkey rides and traditional fairground attractions, while parents could enjoy themselves in the beer tent or munching venison burgers and choice cuts from the hog roast.
The annual festival also offers people an opportunity to learn more about the history and natural history of the ancient forest and learn about the work carried out to preserve it.
