FIVE men have today appeared at the Old Bailey charged with the murder of 21-year-old Adnan Patel.

Mr Patel was stabbed in Stewart Road, Leyton, on July 10, and later collapsed and died in nearby Downsell Road.

Akeel Shah, 24, of North Birkbeck Road, Leytonstone, Clint D'Mello, 24, of Ashlin Road, Stratford, Moneeb Khalid, 20, of Seventh Avenue, Manor Park, and Mohsin Akram, 19, of Bradymead, Beckton, pleaded not guilty to murder.

A 17-year-old youth who cannot be named because of his age, did not enter a plea to the same charge.

Three other men have been arrested in connection with the killing. They have been bailed to return to an east London police station pending further enquiries.
