AFTER enjoying the title of the UK's number one lottery hotspot for five years, Ilford's luck has finally run out as it slips a place in the table for the second consecutive year.

Ilford was the town holding the top spot for British lottery windfalls since statistics were first published in 2002, until it was knocked down a place by Medway, Kent, in 2007.

The IG postcode is still clinging on to second place, however, with over £77million won by lucky Ilford gamblers across all games since the lottery's launch in 1994,.
