A PUBLIC debate between the candidates in the up coming Wanstead council by-election will be held this Wednesday (April 15).

The hustings, at The Cricket Clubhouse in Nutter Lane, will begin at 7.30pm.

Doors open at 7pm.

All six by-election candidates have been invited.

The election will be held on Thursday April 23.

The British National Party, the Conservative Party, the Green Party, the Labour Party, the Liberal Democrats and the United Kingdom Independence Party are all standing.

The by-election has been called following the death of Conservative Allan Burgess, who served as a councillor in the ward for almost two decades.
