EPPING Forest MP Eleanor Laing is giving her backing to Cancer Research UK's Britain's Biggest All-Day Breakfast.

The charity hopes thousands of people across the country will follow suit on Friday, March 12, and host their own breakfast parties for friends, family and colleagues.

This is the sixth year that the cancer charity has held the event to raise money for its cancer research, as well as raising awareness about the importance of a healthy breakfast as a step towards good health.

This year the charity hopes to raise over £250,000.

Mrs Laing said: "Lots of us skip breakfast from time to time but it's one of the most important meals of the day. By holding a breakfast party at work or at home you can kick-start your day with a healthy breakfast and raise money for a great cause at the same time."

Cancer Research UK's director of cancer information Dr Lesley Walker said: "It's great that so many MPs have joined us to help launch Britain's Biggest All-Day Breakfast.

"The event is a great chance to catch up with friends and family and it's very easy to organise."

People are encouraged to ask their breakfast guests to each make a donation to attend a special breakfast.
