COUPLES looking for a reception venue for their wedding day will get the chance to check out a newly restored mansion during a special open day.
Valentines Mansion, in Ilford, was given a £3.2 million makeover last year, and the council now hopes to rent out the 18th century building and its picturesque grounds for big family and community events.
Brides-to-be can run their eye over the venue during Valentines Mansion and Gardens Wedding Preview Day on Saturday November 14.
A council spokeswoman said: "Drop in and discover another world in the heart of Ilford - with its lovely period rooms, grand staircase, and beautiful walled gardens, Valentines will provide a unique setting for your special day.
"This will be a great chance for you to come along and see the house dressed for a wedding and meet with local wedding suppliers to sample their services, including a florist, cake decorator, make-up artist and caterers."
