HUNDREDS of members at one of the district's most popular golf clubs will be showing off their artistic sides at an exhibition of their work next week.
Art enthusiasts at Theydon Bois Golf Club, in Theydon Road, have spent the last four months working away on paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography and even some embroidery for the show at its clubhouse on Saturday November 21.
It is the first time such an event has been held at the club, which has more than 400 members.
Co-organiser Alan Barrington said he was amazed at the response to his request for contributions for the exhibition.
He said: “It's been tremendous. We've been sent absolutely everything, paintings of the Essex landscape, paintings of people and places, photographs, sculptures and all kinds of crafts.
"Our chairman has done a few watercolours and we've had things from across the spectrum.”
A preview event for members is being held next Friday (November 20), with a public showing for one day only on Saturday (November 21) between 10am and 5pm.
Entry is £1 and refreshments and a licensed bar will be available.
