ONE of the wettest evenings of the year failed to dampen the spirits of Redbridge Rotarians and friends as they raised £1,500 for charity with a 70s night.
The evening was held in a big marquee at the Toot Hill Showground, in Stanford Rivers, with music provided by the Dukes band.
Redbridge Rotary Club President Sharon Nathanson said: “It was a great night and on what could have been a washout because of the terrible weather, people braved the torrential rain to have fun and raise money for a truly worthwhile cause.”
The money raised will to Rotary International's campaign to eradicate polio throughout the world. Redbridge Rotary Club meets at Luigi’s Restaurant in Beehive Lane, Gants Hill every Tuesday evening at 7pm for 7.30pm.
