FILM buffs are in for a treat at an important event next week.

The Wanstead and Woodford Cine and Video Club are holding their annual Film Show on Friday November 27 at their clubroom at St Paul's Church Hall in Chigwell Road, Woodford Bridge.

The club's publicity officer, Joan Moody, said: "We are amateur movie makers. The films members make are documentaries, travelogues, dramas and comedies, and the average length of the films is 10/15 minutes.

"When the club was formed approximately 57 years ago, cine film was used, but now we all have camcorders, and we edit our film using a variety of computer programs.

“This is the club’s most important evening of the year, when we welcome the public to come and watch a selection of video films made by our club members.”

The doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets are £5, including home-made refreshments, and are available on the door or from Martin on 020 8504 9430.

Keen film-makers who cannot attend the event are invited to contact the club on 01708 731 033 about attending one of their regular meetings on on alternate Fridays each month at 8 pm.
