MUSLIMS living in the UK are more patriotic than their counterparts living in other European countries, according to a study.

The Open Society Institute researched attitudes among Muslims living in Waltham Forest and in Leicester.

The study shows nine in 10 Muslims born in the UK and seven in 10 born abroad but living in the UK feel British.

Just under half of Muslims living in France considered themselves French and the figure for Germans was just one in four.

Researchers interviewed more than 2,000 people and used information from 60 focus groups in 11 European cities with large Muslim populations.
