JAMAICAN-born blues and jazz saxophonist Sheik ‘Crystatones’ Thompson and his band the DEDEH ALLSTARS take to the stage at The Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Tottenham, on Sunday, December 20, 5pm.
Sheik formed his first band, Gery L Thompson & The Sidewinders, when he moved to the UK in the ‘50s, and backed Stevie Wonder on tour. He also created the Cue Ensemble and most recently, in 2000, the DEDEH ALLSTARS. Sheik has played alongside Georgie Fame, The Who, Mick Eves and the Rolling Stones.
