FOLLOWING in the success of other critically acclaimed West End shows based on the hits of beloved bands, such as Mamma Mia and We Will Rock You, Our House was a smash when it hit the London stage in 2002, scooping the Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
Keen to reproduce that magic, Essex-based musical theatre group Stage One Theatre Company will bring their version of the show to the Kenneth More Theatre from Thursday, February 11.
Including all the biggest hits from the ‘80s Camden-based ska group Madness such as Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, and House of Fun, the play is a fast-moving, hilarious comedy and modern-day love story set on the streets of London.
The story follows 16-year-old Joe who commits a petty crime to impress a girl. When the police arrive, he is a faced with a crossroads and his life splits into two: Good Joe and Bad Joe.
Our House runs at the Kenneth More Theatre from Thursday, February 11 to Saturday, February 13, 7.30pm. Matinee, Saturday, 3pm. Tickets: 020 8553 4466 or visit www.kenneth-more-theatre.co.uk
