COUNCIL tenants in Waltham Forest are being invited to have their say on the future of housing services at workshops next week.
The events on Tuesday and Wednesday will be held at the YMCA in Forest Road, Walthamstow, opposite the town hall.
Ascham Homes, which manages housing on behalf of the council, is launching a new Tenants Compact which sets out the standards that are hoped to be achieved.
The workshops are part of the consultation process for the Tenants Compact.
Hassett Auguste, chief executive of Ascham Homes, said: "By taking part in this consultation we can better understand tenants' views and ensure that they can become more involved.
"We can make more informed decisions and help ensure that we effectively monitor and improve services in the area."
Tenants are also being encouraged to become more involved in the running of Ascham Homes, through a range of schemes including becoming a board member or an "estate champion", and submitting articles to the tenants and leaseholders newsletter Ahead.
The consultation on the Tenants Compact runs until January 31.
There will be six workshops lasting two hours per session. They are being held from 10am to noon, 2pm to 4pm, and 6pm to 8pm.
More information is available about the compact and comments about the scheme can be submitted by contacting the community development unit at 195 Wood Street, Walthamstow, or by calling 8496 2690.
