FAMILY and friends of much-loved surgeon Jenny Ackroyd gathered at the Capio Rivers Hospital, Sawbridgeworth, to plant a tree in her memory.
Miss Ackroyd’s husband, Malcolm Lennox, planted the tree which overlooks the theatre suite.
A hospital spokesman said: “Miss Ackroyd had an excellent reputation not only as a very skilled surgeon, but was always keen to share her knowledge through teaching others. She was very highly respected and her contribution to building the hospital over the years will not be forgotten.” Miss Ackroyd had been a consultant general-vascular surgeon since the hospital opened in 1992 until her death last year. She also worked at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow.
