STUDENTS from primary and secondary schools came together for a special performance based on forming friendships across each other's cultures.
Seven schools and 80 pupils gathered at Leyton Sixth Form College theatre last night for a production based on their work around bridging and understanding their different traditions.
The event entitled What Makes Me, Me? was organised by Arts in Mentoring (AIM), a group of Waltham Forest learning mentors.
Learning mentor Diane Thomas, who works at Sybourn School, Sybourn Road, Leyton, helped organise the event.
She said: "Everyone put in a lot of hard work but it was worth it because the students, especially the young ones, made valuable personal and cultural discoveries and broke down a lot of barriers."
