DETECTIVES investigating the shooting of a man in Leyton have made a fresh appeal for information as they prepare to revisit the murder scene.

Officers are set to return to Seymour Playing Fields this weekend, where 37-year-old Errol McKenzie was found dead in the early hours of the morning last Sunday (April 11).

He had been shot in the chest.

Police will speak to local residents and businesses in the area - off Leabridge Road - in the hope of uncovering new information in the hunt for his killer.

No arrests have yet been made.

Detective Inspector Steve Horsley, who is leading the investigation, said: "I appeal to anyone who has information about Mr McKenzie's murder, including anyone who knew him, or was in the area at the time of the incident who may have heard or seen anything suspicious to contact us.

"We retain an open mind as to any motive at this time."
