AN UP-AND-COMING young Irish dancer has bettered her performance at last year's world championships with an impressive result at the 2010 contest.
Amy Prior O'Loughlin, 13, of Wansford Road, Woodford Green, claimed 12th place at the 2010 World Irish Dancing Championships in Glasgow on March 30 - after finishing 36th last year - and has automatically qualified for next year's competition.
Amy attends Trinity Catholic High School in Woodford Green and keeps herself extremely busy balancing her school life and the hours of practise it takes to reach the top competitions.
Her proud mum Julie said: "She juggles school with getting up at 6am everyday to train. How many 13-year-olds have that commitment?
"Her dancing teachers Sean Hennigan and Mandy O'Loughlin were extremely proud of her and her determination to succeed."
