POLICE conducted a crack-down on speeding motorists in a residential street, following a series of complaints about speeds travelling too fast past their homes.
Members of the Aldborough Safer Neighbourhood used a speed gun to catch motorists in Springfield Drive and Aldborough Road North in Ilford on several days in April, and caught 23 speeding motorists in the process.
Of those, 16 vehicles were stopped and the drivers of three of those were given fixed penalty notices.
Officers actually siezed one vehicle, which was found to be uninsured, as part of Operation Reclaim.
Police say they are planning more operations over the coming weeks due to the success of these operations.
