A JEWISH secondary celebrated the anniversary of the founding of Israel with a series of special events yesterday.
Pupils at King Solomon High School, in Barkingside, marked the state's 62nd birthday - know as Yom Ha'atzmaut - on Tuesday, April 20 by wearing blue and white in honour of the national flag and participating in themed events.
The celebrations continued into the evening in the school's main hall where visitors were be entertained to a performance of live music by a Klezmer group and Israeli dancers.
King Solomon will also be holding its very own version of the X Factor talent show - KS Factor - on Tuesday, May 11, from 6.30pm to raise money for the school's charity Meir Panim. A 'star guest' is set to attend.
