TWO men have been charged over the deaths of dozens of birds at a Wanstead beauty spot in March.
Alexandra Lake in Aldersbrook was sealed off by the Health Protection Agency on March 9 while forensic scientists tried to discover the cause of the deaths.
Terrence Webb, 27, of Peregrine Road, Ilford, and Mark Page, 35, of White Hart Lane in Romford will appear at Redbridge Magistrates' Court on June 29.
They were each charged yesterday with two counts of using a pesticide without approval, two counts of poisoning animals, and two counts of killing a wild bird, and one count of one count of storing a pesticide without ministerial approval.
Both men worked as pest controllers for a local authority.
