THE Woodford Salvation Army Band will celebrate its 50th anniversary next month.
The original band dissolved when most of its members were called up to serve in the Second World War and a new one was founded in 1960.
Its anniversary will be marked with a performance by the Hillingdon band which is headed by the father-in-law of the Woodford lieutenant.
The performance at St Mary's Church in South Woodford High Road, will start at 7pm on October 9.
