THE life of Woodford's most celebrated MP is due to be discussed at an annual lecture.
Woodford Historical Society chairman Peter Lawrence will deliver a lecture entitled Winston Churchill and his Woodford Constituency on October 4 at 7.45pm at St Mary's Memorial Hall, next to St Mary's Church in Woodford High Road.
Churchill represented the Woodford constituency for its entire existence from 1945 to 1964, having first been elected as member for Epping in 1924.
Mr Lawrence's lecture will focus on Churchill's time in Woodford, highlighting buildings and locations in the area associated with his time there and talking of the people in his life.
Tickets cost £6 including a glass of wine and light refreshments. Proceeds go to the Memorial Hall's appeal fund.
They can be purchased at the door, or in advance from hall manager Barbara Slaney on 020 8505 3352.
