ST JOHN’S School offers a lot of exciting opportunities for able, gifted and talented students.
In 2010 the school linked up with King Edward Grammar School.
This involved students from St John’s attending lessons at King Edward.
The students presented their findings on the differences and similarities in teaching and learning between the two schools to the staff of St John’s.
Other activities include the annual able, gifted and talented summer school in late July.
Year five, six, seven and eight students were invited to involve themselves in a range of exciting and challenging activities both in school and during local visits to Paradise Wildlife Park and Fairlop Sailing Centre.
The theme was ‘Animal Life’ and St John’s teachers gave up some of their holiday time to deliver creative tasks to appreciative students in a range of academic subjects.
The summer school is always a popular event and plans are already in place for next year.
