ST JOHN’S students attended the Jack Petchey Award Ceremony at Waltham Abbey Town Hall, accompanied by Gill Mason, Associate Leader.
It was a wonderful, inspirational evening, attended by more than 70 students from schools, Epping Forest College and other organisations across the Epping Forest District where young people are given the opportunity to learn, develop and thrive.
Staff leaders were also presented with awards for their exceptional contributions to their educational establishments.
The awards were presented by Eleanor Laing, local MP and Anne Grigg, chairman of Epping Forest District Council.
The event was conducted in a mood of celebration, with a number of impressive musical performances from local students.
Many parents and families were also in attendance to witness their children receiving their awards.
St John’s was the smartest school there and received the loudest cheers. We were the only award-winners where everyone receiving awards was present.
