EIGHT squatters have been evicted from a house in Leyton.
The group moved into the empty property in Dawlish Road in February, and soon attracted complaints from neighbours.
Police say the group called at nearby homes with begging letters and there were also reports that they went through residents' bins, scattering rubbish.
The house's front and back gardens were also used to store scrap items which encouraged fly-tipping in the area, according to officers.
The group were served with an eviction order last week and have now left the street.
Police say they are no longer in the borough.
Grove Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team said it worked with housing association London and Quadrant (L&Q) to secure the eviction order.
Sergeant Kate Collin said: "This case demonstrates the excellent partnership working between L&Q and the police.
"Residents have been suffering from anti-social behaviour for some time.
"We have been working closely with the residents to resolve this issue, which has been quite a lengthy process.
"For the people causing misery to their neighbours, by acting in an anti social manner with no regard for their well-being, this is a clear message that you will be targeted."
