A DRIVER has admitted causing the death of a father of two who was killed while training for a charity bike ride.
Alex Dexter, 23, of Torrington Gardens, Loughton, pleaded guilty to causing 38-year-old Steven Rodway’s death by careless driving at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday (Monday).
Mr Rodway, from Brentwood, was hit by a Ford Puma near the Passingford Bridge roundabout in Stapleford Tawney on June 13 last year and died of his injuries at the scene.
His wife Marrissa said the insurance assessor was a “dearly loved husband” who enjoyed skiing, music and DIY.
Dexter also admitted two counts of causing death by driving, while uninsured and without a driving licence.
A 22-year-old woman from Brentwood is charged with aiding and abetting these two counts and is next due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday, October 3.
