AN OLYMPIC medallist returned to Waltham Forest Pool and Track - where he learnt to dive as a child - as part of a TV programme about his preparations for next year's games.
Peter Waterfield, 30, visited the facility in Chingford Road, Walthamstow, for Sky TV's Road to the Games show.
Mr Watefield, who now lives in Southampton, scooped silver in the 10 metre synchronised dive category at the 2004 Athens Games and is hoping for similar success in 2012.
He said: “It’s great to be back where I learnt to dive and even better to see that the diving boards are still in functional use.
“It's funny, but I actually got goose bumps looking up at the top board, even though it is five metres lower than what I am used to.”
Mr Waterfield, who competes both solo and in the synchronised event with partner Tom Daley, also spoke to swimming club members during the visit.
