AN UNEMPLOYED man has been jailed after being found hiding in a looted shop during the August riots.
Haramein Jelan Mohammed, 24, was sentenced to two and a half years for the burglary at Costco in Shadbolt Avenue, Chingford, on Monday, August 8, at around 11.20pm.
A substantial amount of property was taken and a group of looters had fled before the police arrived.
But Mohammed was found hiding behind a shelving unit in the store.
The 24-year-old of Pedro Street in Clapton was sentenced at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.
