THE district could see weekly rubbish collections return after the Government announced plans to pay councils to make services more frequent.
Ongar MP Eric Pickles announced today (Friday) that the Government has set aside £250 million to give local authorities the chance to reintroduce weekly collections.
The communities secretary told the BBC that no other budgets would be cut to provide the cash.
General rubbish is currently taken away from Epping Forest homes every other week, with food and garden waste collected weekly and other recycling picked up from kerbsides fortnightly.
