AN MP is to investigate the number of people claiming discounts on cars because their children have been diagnosed with a hyperactivity disorder.
Iain Duncan Smith, MP for Chingford and Woodford Green and work and pensions secretary, has spoken out against the 3,000 families of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) who have received money towards cars under a Government scheme, according to national reports.
Parents of children with ADHD can claim up to £10,000 a year in disability benefits and it is believed some are using the Government-funded Motability scheme to get discount luxury cars.
A Government source told the Mail on Sunday that officials would crack down on abuses in the system.
