NEW sessions have started at a youth club that was saved from closure by a community’s support.

Way 2000 in Brooker Road, Waltham Abbey, had its county council funding cut in May, but other groups, including the town council, Townsmead Sport and Social Club and the district council, stepped in to plug the gap.

Thursday night sessions are now up and running from 7.15pm to 9.15pm and activities will include fitness sessions, computer gaming competitions, cookery and monthly sexual health drop-in sessions.

Entry to the youth sessions costs £1.50.
