SCHOOLCHILDREN raised over £1,000 for charity at a non-uniform day with a difference.
On October 19, students and staff at Roding Valley High School in Loughton ditched their uniforms for a day and dressed in various shades of yellow to raise money for St Clare Hospice, which helps seriously ill children.
Yellow was the colour chosen to support the charity as its logo is a sunflower.
Headteacher Paul Banks said: "The atmosphere around the school was fantastic and I am delighted that we are able to support such a worthwhile cause.”
