THREE men were taken to hospital after one aeroplane crash-landed and another caught fire at two airfields in the district.
In the first incident, which happened at 2.20pm yesterday (Monday), a plane crash-landed at Stapleford Flying Club in Stapleford Tawney, injuring two men.
Paramedics and a team from the Herts Air Ambulance treated the men at the scene before taking them to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
An ambulance service spokesman said they suffered minor injuries.
Five hours later, at 7.20pm, a small plane caught fire in a separate incident at North Weald Airfield, injuring a 48-year-old man.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “Following assessments by the ambulance crews at the scene, he was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further care.”
