DOGS and their owners had a chance to show off their training at an awards ceremony on Sunday.
Owners showed their dogs could stay when asked, walk beside them and sit still while their mouths and feet were inspected, as well as obeying other commands, during the event at Thornwood Common Village Hall.
Epping Forest District Council dog warden Lyn Cook, who organised the event, said: “The behaviour was not bad at all.
“We’re not looking for competition-level obedience, just walking along the road without the owner being dragged along, for example.
“The award is quite well-recognised and a lot of hotels and shopping centres will let in dogs who have it.”
