A SCHOOL'S summer fete attracted more than 1,000 parents and children last weekend.
Larkswood Primary School managed to raise more than £3,000 towards a new outside classroom and play area for children thanks to one of their best ever turnouts for the event on Saturday, June 30.
The school in New Road, Chingford, held a barbecue for the families, who were entertained by football and rugby demonstrations and games as well as a coconut shy and a bucking bronco.
Friends of Larkswood Primary School chair Amanda Turner said: "It was a brilliant day, everyone had a great time. The money means we're on our way to building the classroom and play room so that's fantastic.
"I'd just like to thanks everyone who came along and everyone who helped make it so enjoyable."
