POLICE say there have not been any other reports of attempted abductions of teenagers in the borough since a gang tried to grab a schoolgirl two weeks ago.
Officers issued a warning to the public after the 16-year-old was targeted in Wallwood Road, at the junction with Kings Road, in Leytonstone on Tuesday June 19 at 3.40pm.
A group of four men tried to pull her into a "rusty" black people carrier, but she managed to wriggle free and run home.
There have been rumours of other attempted abductions in the borough.
However a Met spokesman said there had not been any other similar incidents reported since then.
He added that no arrests had been made but enquiries were still on-going.
Witnesses or those with information are urged to contact Detective Sergeant Brian Jones at Waltham Forest police on 020 3276 0967.
To remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
