STAFF and service users at a day centre received a letter from The Queen thanking them for their giant Diamond Jubilee card.
Neelam Pahl who works at Elderberries day centre in Broadmead Road, Woodford Green, started collecting signatures on the card back in May.
Everyone who signed it made a donation to the Royal Marsden cancer charity, with Mrs Pahl raising a total of £550.
And all the well-wishers were delighted this week when they received a letter from Buckingham Palace thanking them for their kind wishes.
Mrs Pahl said: “It came with a lovely leaflet and a letter saying how grateful the Queen was to receive our card.
“It’s very exciting to get a letter like this and we are doubly happy to have raised so much money for charity.
“I’d like to thank all the people who signed the card and donated to the Royal Marsden.”
