BURGLARS disguised as police officers tricked their way into a house.

Three people produced a fake warrant and searched the family home, claiming they were investigating money laundering.

They then threatened the family while up to three more people searched the house at 11.15pm on July 31.

The first three burglars wore police uniforms of white shirts, black trousers, black boots and stab vests under duffel jackets with 'Police' on the back.

They even had epaulettes containing the letters SU followed by a four-digit number.

A white woman aged about 28 and 5ft 5ins with dark brown hair braided on top introduced herself as Rose Stone.

Another fake officer, an Asian man aged about 28 and 5ft 9ins, called himself Malik. He had a round face and short black hair.

The third burglar was white, around 34, 5ft 10ins and of a heavy build.

He had short, mousey hair, wore glasses and called himself Chris Wilson.

The burglars left the house in Kensington Gardens, Ilford, after 45 minutes with items including jewellery and gold.

The gang left in a Volkswagen Passat and an Audi with a regsitration starting NL11.
