AN AWARD-WINNING policeman has been charged with making indecent images of children.
PC Adam Holbrook, 28, of Corporation Road in Chelmsford, who works for Waltham Forest Police, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday September 17 charged with one count of making sixteen 'Level 1' images.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service, the classification is judged to be the least serious of five categories of indecent images.
It defines 'Level 1' as "images of erotic posing, with no sexual activity".
He was arrested on August 7 by officers from the Met's Paedophile
Unit and was bailed to return on Tuesday, when he was charged.
He is currently on bail.
PC Holbrook received a commendation in 2007 for his work on the investigation into the murder of Richie Holmes in Chingford.
Mr Holmes, 21, was shot dead in Greenham Crescent in 2005 and PC Holbrook was praised for his work at the scene along with nine other officers.
