Episode seven of this year's The Apprentice series was back with all the drama we expect from the boardroom.

The seventh episode saw nine candidates battle it out to win over Lord Alan Sugar and his aides, Baroness Karren Brady and first-ever The Apprentice winner Tim Campbell.

The candidates are hoping to win a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar.

Here's everything that happened in this week's episode and how social media reacted.

Who is on each team this week?

Team Infinity included Brittany, Aaron, Akeem and Harpreet.

On Team Diverse were Akshay, Stephanie, Sophie, Nick and Kathryn.

What happened in episode seven?

The candidates met Lord Sugar at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The teams were asked to create driverless electric vehicles and pitch their 'pods' to investment clients and a corporate customer who would lease the vehicles.

Sophie was the project manager of Team Diverse due to her passion for interior design and she wanted to create an 'Instagrammable party pod'.

Akeem was voted as the PM for Infinity and had a vision for simplicity and sustainability.

Akeem was asked by Lord Sugar to be more assertive but aide Tim Campbell noted he started by changing his decisions based on his team's suggestions.

One Twitter user said: "Akeem doesn't lead he just abandons his ideas when everyone else shares theirs".

Sophie's team opted for a bright pink interior and sold the idea to the clients in sparkly suits.

Team Infinity sold £1,262,800 worth of pods to the corporate clients and buyers.

Team Diverse only managed to sell £535,200 of product, meaning they were back in the boardroom.

The winning team was sent to Leigh Valley to do white water rafting.

Who was fired?

Sophie brought Nick and Akshay back into the boardroom after much deliberation.

Lord Sugar said he didn't know why Akshay was brought back in the boardroom as the brief from the PM was bad.

He was also very close to firing Nick, but let him stay this week.

He said: "Sophie the failure of this task is crystal clear to me. It was a bad idea, badly executed and for that reason, Sophie, you're fired."

In the taxi, Sophie said: "This isn't the end for me obviously. I'm going home to concentrate on my cocktail bar.

She added: "Looking forward to the future and expanding."
