This weekend marks the 43rd  London Marathon, with thousands heading to the streets of the capital to participate and support athletes.

Of course, not everyone who wants to show their support can make it to London, with the announcement of rail strikes on the weekend making it even harder.

However, there is still a way for you to show your support to the hard-working runners taking on the 26-mile run.

The BBC is showing full coverage of the London Marathon throughout the morning and afternoon, meaning you can stay warm and watch from home.

How to watch the London Marathon

Coverage for the marathon starts bright and early at 8.30am on BBC One where Gabby Logan will lead discussions with runners that are preparing to take on the mammoth run.

The coverage will show the elite races where hopefully athletes will take on the route and hope to beat their personal bests.

Logan will be joined by fellow reporters Steve Brown, JJ Chalmers, and Jeanette Kwakye and commentary from Andrew Cotter, Stever Cram and Paul Radcliffe throughout the morning.

London Marathon coverage starts at 8.30am until 2pm on BBC One and iPlayer.

How does the London Marathon tracker app work?

When you download the app you will be taken to the homepage that gives you all the options and features available including how to track a participant.

You just head to the ‘Tracking’ section and search for the runner by their name or bib number.

It will then show the progress made along the route and if you enable your GPS, the position of the runner will be more accurate.

Along with being able to track a runner you can also find expert tips and advice, keep up-to-date with the Elite Leader board and find out results.
