Division One Walthamstow Seconds edged a tight contest to beat Goresbrook Seconds by eight runs.

Openers David Portman (71) and Vijesh Moie (65) got the innings off to a great start, while Faheem Hasan (30) added valuable runs lower down the order.

In reply, Goresbrook started nervously, conceding two early wickets, but a mammoth third-wicket stand of 213 fired the home side back into the match.

A crucial run out executed by Faheem Hasan broke the partnership and Goresbrook struggled to regain their rhythm from then on, finishing on 268 for eight at the close of play.
