Waltham Abbey’s Joe Clarke stormed into the final of the K1 canoe Slalom at the Rio 2016 Olympics with a third place semi-final finish.
Clarke recorded a time of 1.30.67 to finish behind the Czech Republic’s Jiri Prskavec (1.30.62) and Slovakia’s Jakub Grigar (1.28.84).
The result means Clarke will be part of the field of eight who take to the water for the final which takes place at 7.15pm today.
