Leyton Orient’s Under-18s secured safe passage to the third round of the FA Youth Cup with a comprehensive 5-0 defeat of Sholing.
Much of the O’s success came in the second period after Charles Clayden’s 37th minute opener had given them a 1-0 advantage at the half-time break.
Orient’s greater class showed against the Wessex Football League side after the interval as Sam Dalby and Ruel Sotirou added to a Jaedon Phillips brace to seal the victory.
The victory sets up a tie with Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion in the next round. Details for the match will be confirmed in due course.
