Leyton Orient Head Coach Richie Wellens described his team’s performance as ‘Shocking’ as they crashed 3-0 away to Doncaster in League One.
Orient conceded two goals in the first half and one just after the break in what Wellens considered as one of Orient’s worst performances this season.
Defeat for Orient means that they have lost two away games in a row and the Head Coach believes player recruitment is desperately needed.
Wellens said: “Shocking performance. From the first whistle their system dictated to us what we done. They put in through long balls. We done that system very well when their ace are high our full backs but Jack Moorhouse never jumped. Obviously, he is young and learning.”
“If you don’t turn up and work hard, then you won’t get the rewards. I am embarrassed for our supporters. Out supporters come all this way and we don’t compete. We played them at home and competed and 4-0. Today it was a total reversal.”
“We need some players in. I need a left back in. We didn’t have a midfield player. There are three or four players that we need. We need a goalkeeper. We have had a problem with our goalkeeper all season. And they keep making mistake after mistake.”
“We have been running with a squad in my opinion are not capable of going on a good run of results in this league. So, we need some help and we to get some players in.”
“I very angry. I am trying my best but until we sign a goalkeeper, but I have option but to be patient and stick with the goalkeeper we have. Until we have players in, we may see the team improve.”
“Today’s performance was a lack pf professionalism, maturity and confidence. I feel that our performance lately is not good enough for our supporters.”
Defeat for Orient means they now sit 18th in the League and two points off the drop zone.
