Leyton Orient have given their head coach Richie Wellens their full backing and support after a difficult season.
The O’s are currently 19th in League One and one point above the relegation zone, a far cry from last season where they reached the play off final.
Speaking at a Fan’s Q and A session the club said they believe Wellens is the man to take the club forward and do not mind the Gaffer singling out players in the media after games.
Director of Football Martin Ling said: “Sometimes his weakness in terms is talking about it to the media. But I look at in terms is that negativity that he has got or said carries on into the training ground into the week and the answer in no.”
“Sometime that period after the games, and I have done it for 15 years, Richie is not that type of person. He say’s it like it is and shows his passion. That’s the way he does it and he has done all the time he has been here.”
“But if I felt or the board feel sometime what he has said into the training ground then it could be a problem. But that has not happened. We think Richie is the man for the club. H e the gaffer for the long term forward.”
Orient have brought in some new players to help boost their struggling season. They next play Stockport away.
