Leyton Orient head coach Richie Wellens has said his team should not underestimate Exeter City when they play them away in League One this Saturday.

The Grecians have been struggling this season and currently sit just outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

The O’s however are in their best form of the season having won their last four league games and are well on course for a mid-table finish.

Despite the difference in form by the two teams, Wellens has urged his side to concentrate on themselves and not what is happening at Exeter.

He said: “It would be a usual tough as always. I know they are having a tough time at the moment, and they are down there but over the years they have always given us a tough team. They have always played a good style of football.

“But we need to concentrate on ourselves. They are very flexible on the way they play. How they press and how they build. But we need to concentrate just on ourselves.”

Wellens also expressed his annoyance at the little break the league had due to the international games.

He added: “I’m not happy with this little break we have. When you’re flying and playing well with full confidence you want the games to keep coming quick and fast. Especially when the players are fit and available and ready.”

Wellens also praised the performance of Goalkeeper Will Dennis. The stopper has been in fine form since his arrival in January and has contributed to Orients’ recent good form.

Wellens said:” Will is great personality. He has really settled in. He is spreading confidence all around the pitch. The staff are really happy with him.”

Team news wise Wellens said: “Tom James is probably not going to make. Josh Aroma has a slight hamstring. Ollie O’Neil is likely to come back.”

Leyton Orient have won each of their last two league games against Exeter City by a combined 8-3 scoreline, they last won more in succession in this fixture in the EFL between January 2000 and January 2001 (four wins).
