Former Millwall and Leyton Orient manager Kenny Jackett has died at the age of 64.

Jackett, a widely respected figure in English football for his work on and off the pitch, also managed Swansea City, Wolves, Rotherham United, Portsmouth and his hometown club Watford.

As a player, he made 428 appearances for the Hornets during a one-club career that also saw him win 31 caps for Wales.

His longest managerial spell came at The Den, taking charge of 306 games between 2007 and 2013 and securing promotion to the Championship.

A statement from Millwall said: "Kenny Jackett will forever go down as one of Millwall Football Club’s greatest managers and a man who gave Lions fans moments to remember for life."

At Leyton Orient, Jackett managed the team between May 2021 and February 2022, bringing in key players who would play central roles in the club’s later success.

A spokesperson for the east London club said: "Leyton Orient is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former manager Kenny Jackett, aged 64. The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Kenny’s family and friends at this very sad time."

His connection to Leyton Orient ran even deeper, with his father Frank Jackett having played for the O’s during the early 1950s.
